A manufacturing-side guide for brands, buyers and retailers turning an idea into clear, verifiable product requirements.
Consumer-facing claims, not a blanket B2B product rule
Directive (EU) 2024/825 applies from 27 September 2026. The amended consumer rules address B2C commercial practices; a purely B2B sourcing exchange is outside this harmonised framework, though other destination-market rules may still matter. Factory-supplied material descriptions, hangtags and pack artwork may later appear in a brand’s retail offer. Buyers should therefore assign ownership of each environmental claim, its evidence and final approval during sampling. Generic terms such as “green” and voluntary sustainability marks require review against the applicable conditions.
Match each claim to the component it describes
For storage boxes, bedding bags and hanging organisers, record the outer fabric, lining, support board, zipper, handles and packaging separately. Evidence about one fabric does not justify presenting the whole product as environmentally preferable. Review pack fronts, hangtags, ecommerce titles, icons and product-detail pages together so that scope, conditions and evidence align. The responsible party in each destination market should approve final wording and assess any old stock.
A practical OEM/ODM brief
Within its confirmed fabric-storage OEM/ODM scope, NHE can help organise material, construction, sample-version and packaging specifications and identify what supply-chain documents may be available. NHE does not replace a brand, importer or local legal adviser, or promise an unverified certification. Please send the destination country, product drawings, bill of materials, proposed environmental wording, label and pack artwork, and sales channel with your inquiry so manufacturing and documentation gaps can be discussed. This is sourcing information, not legal advice.
